About YYC Softball Little League

YYC Fastpitch Develoment Society was started January 2019, with the intent to provide an environment for girls to learn how to love the game. In March of 2019, we aligned with Little League, as their grass roots program, fair play philosophies, and international competitive opportunities was exactly what we were looking for.

YYC Softbal Little League provides an alternative softball program for female youth athletes in Calgary and surrounding areas. Our regular season is inclusive to all skills and abilities and the focus is on skill development in a fun and social environment. In 2022, we started a Spring Travel Teams. These teams compete in 3-4 touranments in addition to the house league games. Our summer season will focus on competitive softball for those players looking to compete in Tournament Play. In 2022, our Junior team won Silver at the Canadian Regional Championships in Victora, and our Senior team defeated Montreal to win gold and advance to the Little League World Series in the U.S. In 2023, we had another successfull season with our Senior Team. They travelled to Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia where they won gold and advanced the Little League World Series for a 2nd year .

As our league grows, so does our program. This year we are offering 3 levels of play. House League, Hybrid, and a Competitive Spring Travel Team Stream .

House League Players: Players interested in playing house league only, will play Tuesdays and Thursdays with our modified play rules.

Hybrid Players: Players interested in playing house league plus tournaments, will play Tuesday and Thursdays on a house league team, plus they will be on a travel team that competes in 2-4 tournaments with their travel team.

Travel Team Players: New this season! These players will play on a travel team, and will attend multiple tournaments. This is a heavy weekend commitment throughout April, May, and June and there may be additional costs above registration fees based on the number of tournaments played. Players can expect to practice during the week. Please note: our Senior Travel Team will play in a ladies league, which will be double headers on Wednesday evenings.
